Christmas Carol Violin Music
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
This song was played during the transition when Scrooge gets into bed,
and we begin to wait in suspense for the appearance of
the Ghost of Christmas Past.
Scrooge is whisked into a memory of Fezziwig's place of business;
he remembers a Christmas party from his past with dancing and a fiddler!
The magical and celebratory
appearance of Christmas Present!
This piece also ended the play after the final line, "God Bless Us, Everyone!"
Scrooge experiences the bittersweet image of Tiny Tim with his family;
the mood turns eerie when the Ghost of Christmas Present reveals that
Tiny Tim will soon die.
I distorted our recording of Coventry Carol and embedded it in this cue
which played during the dramatic reveal of the Ghost of Christmas Future.
This song played as the actors decorated the set with garland and
Christmas ribbons.
O Holy Night
I'm not sure where this song was used (!) but it's beautiful
so I want you to hear it.
Hark the Herald Angels Sing
This song played as the image of Christmas Present at the Crachits
came into view for Scrooge. I also had the sound of a crackling fire
and some children laughing to complete the picture.
